Chiropractic For a Healthier Pregnancy: Dr. Debra Block, Dr. Lindsay McDonald and Dr. Eleanor Holdnack specialize in offering chiropractic care for expecting mothers. When your body goes through the various stages and trials of pregnancy and labor, your spine is subjected to extreme amounts of stress. After all, it has to constantly adjust itself to bear the growing weight of another person over a short timeframe of just nine months.
The center of gravity shifts forward and substantial weight gain adds stress to the spine of the expecting mother. This stress frequently causes lower back pain, headaches and migraines, nausea, insomnia, and other symptoms that can wreak havoc on your quality of life.
Over 50% of pregnant women complain of lower back pain during pregnancy, caused primarily by the weight that must be balanced by an overworked spine and support system. Furthermore, how smooth and uncomplicated your delivery is has a lot to do with the state of your body. A body that is stressed, misaligned and worn out can result in complications during delivery – resulting in anything from a painful delivery to problems with positioning the baby correctly.
A study performed by the American Medical Association Board of Trustees concluded that women who received chiropractic care during their third trimester of pregnancy were able to carry and deliver with far more comfort. Plus, the need for painkillers was also reduced by half in several patients in another well-known study.
Dealing with shifting weight, imbalance and pain & discomfort from a taxed nervous system are prime reasons for the need of chiropractic care for pregnant women. Dr. Block, Dr. McDonald and Dr. Holdnack are experts at delivering high-quality chiropractic services for expecting mothers from day one of pregnancy to birth – and beyond.
Webster Technique for Pregnant Women
The Webster Technique was designed to help remove subluxations in pregnant women and restore balance to the pelvic area through adjustments and relaxation of special ligaments in the pelvic girdle. This helps to relieve the pressure and stress that can be placed on the pelvic area during pregnancy & childbirth and it also helps with optimal fetal positioning.
I went to Dr Block during a time when I had a back injury. Within 2 visits my back pain was non-existent. During one visit I mentioned a bad knee and she worked on it and it slipped at a much lesser rate. Professional, excellent listener, I recommend.*
Dr. Block and her staff are great! Their mission is to help relieve your pain and promote a healthy lifestyle.*
I found an amazing Chiropractic Office! Thanks ladies for making me feel so comfortable as a new comer & for adjusting me so well. I’m feeling better already.*
The Block Chiropractic and Rehab family deserve the Presidential Medal of Freedom for the relief they provide their clients and patients. I have been battling a dull, constant ache in my side for like 6-7 years. YEARS!! Just one visit, all that tension. All that soreness. Tight, sensitive, acute pain… Gone. In one visit. Anyone else who has been battling constant uncomfort… daily pain… never-ending extreme-sensitivity… Deserve to visit this wonderful, magical, friendly place. Just don’t book your appointment on Tuesdays (cuz that’s my day) 🙂 Go do it already! You’ll wish you signed up sooner!*
I just started going to a chiropractor recently and all I can say is Dr. Block is awesome! The facility is nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful; you couldn’t ask for a better place or experience!*
I began going to see Dr. Block and Dr. Lindsay this past fall, then recently, began acupuncture treatments with Brittany. I am so glad I went. I am getting compassionate and thorough care. The staff is unfailingly polite as well!*
When I started going to Dr Lindsay at Block my shoulders hurt all the time and I was getting terrible headaches. Now, no more pain and no more headaches, she’s like a miracle worker.*
I started seeing Dr Block for neck pain and migraines. She listens well and asks pertinent follow up questions. All of the staff is friendly and helpful. There is a second chiropractor – Dr. Lindsey, a couple of acupuncturists and massage therapists. I have not seen them all, but have used the services of several and have no complaints. Dr. Block does sometimes run late, but they also have water massage beds, so if you use those you can do that before the session.*
I have been a patient of Dr. Block for 5 years and thus practice still amazes me! They make you feel like part of the family and always treat you like you are the most important guest of the day! My whole family including my 11 and 5 year old love getting their alignment checks! I can not say enough nice things about them you have to see for yourself. I recommend them to everyone I know and always have cards available to hand out!*
